12 Tips to a Successful Voice-Over Acting Career/Business

How to Audition, Get Hired & Re-Hired to Record VO in the Studio for good paying Clients

  • Send prompt slated Custom Auditions on request
  • Share current DEMO'(s) & Production/Studio capabilities
  • Always include Contact info. & Availability notes
  • Maintain Booking & Session Scheduling Flexibility
  • Prepare: Read/Note Script & Practice VO/Characters with Video
  • Plan Commute to show up On-Time (or Early) for your Session (esp. in L.A.)
  • Bring a Positive "Can-DO" - "@ Your-Service" Attitude into the Studio
  • Listen/Follow Client/Producer Direction & Give Them What They Want
  • Thank Client & Producer/Eng. for the (Work) Opportunity @ session-end
  • Be Willing to Record minor corrections/pick-ups @ Home without charging
  • Be Reasonable in your Pick-Up Rates for new/extra lines added after Session
  • Conduct Post-Session Review & ask for feedback from Client/Producer
  • Bonus Tip: Send a Thank You Note/Card or MSG a few days after Session
